View Full Version : Wonder what Paulo said to Robby?

I would have like to have heard what Bettini was shouting at
McEwen 1k from the finish as Robby sat on his wheel. I'm
sure the gist of it was "take your turn, you chump," but I
bet it sounded a lot better in Italian!

(BTW, It's "Paolo").

Did you see the gesture he made at him after he sat up? Not
a happy camper.

When we were watching it live my wife even knew that Bettini
was not going to gift wrap this win for McEwen.

The last few weeks have been good for him, with national
titles in both RR and TT to go with his green and yellow
jerseys and stage win. The finish on this stage did seem
made for him.

dunni, but Robbie replied: "Dumbass, I'm a sprinter. Shut up
and pull."

Somehow that rang a bell with Bettini, and after 10 seconds
he realised that made no sense.

I'd like to see both LANCE and McEwen in an early season
race in Texas.

Did see it lat night, he simply sat up, drifted to the side
and waved him through as if to say, "after you, Robbie."
Nothing untoward about
it.

That gesture doesn't mean what you think it does. It's
roughly a mixture of disappointment, frustration and
contempt. And he did it twice. That pony that is going
around the pelOton - watch out where its head shows up...
