Cycling on the top of the world

Since 2001, over 90,000 cyclist's have joined Cycling Forums to discuss topics from general cycling to equipment, training, racing and travel or vacation destinations (especially in europe during the tour de france). While searching my next holiday, I came across this: 3 guys who set the world record for cycling at the highest altitude - 7000m. They carried their bikes up a mountain in Western China called Mustagh Ata.

I am not sure if I would call this recreational cycling.

Avalanche country! I can only imagine trying to outrun an avalanche with a mountain bike. :eek:
