View Full Version : Conti Grand-Prix 4 Season tires?
Anyone used Conti Grand-Prix 4 Season tires for touring? They seem to be more racing/training tires, but apparently quite durable and they come in 700x28c.
Thanks.

I'll let you know I just bought a set of the 700x28. What I Really like about them is they are rated as high if not higher than the Continentals touring tires plus they are foldable enabling you to carry an extra tire using very little space.

I use the 23c's for winter training. Great tyre, but they are designed for cooler weather so tread wear on hot roads is higher than other tyres.
Conti's Ultra Gatorskin appears to be the exact same tyre, but with a more durable/neutral rubber, and maybe a slightly heavier casing. I think the Gatorskin might make more sense for touring.

I have ultragators (28mm) on my tourer, and quite like them, never tried 4 seasons myself. I bought the ultragators for use around town really, I have some 32mm schwalbe marathons for touring.

I have used Gatorskins for commuting. The tread is great but the sidewall is not rubberised & is susceptible to damage. I think this might be a probelm for touring.
Overall I love Conti's though - have used Supersport Ultra's, GP's, Top Tourers, never a problem. Tried a few different model Vitorria's, no bloody good.
Btw, anyone with knowledge of cycling in Singapore, both urban & rural? I might end up there for a year and may not make it if I can't ride.
