rode past a guy this morning with a rohloff hub AND a schmidt hub-dynamo

after fighting urge to push him off and nick bike, he told me had a capacitor to keep light going when not moving

pity about the dually suspension making bounce more than an election promise!

Gears AND a resistance-increasing device...
What is he thinking?! :P

WTF? Commuting on a dually? Must be in training for something...

I've seen a guy on a black Cannondale duallie riding east on Whitehorse Rd.
Slicked up for commuting I guess.. kinda silly but I guess it'd be comfy and
if you've only got one bike it's a cheap solution.

I'd like a duallie commuter just for pimpin' value and the ability to
'play around' mid-commute..

I did the slicked duallie commute for a couple of years until I resurrected the hardtail mongrel and realised just how much power i was losing in bouncity bounce...

But it wasn't too bad once you got used to it, and the cushyness was appreciated at times like jumping curbs or bridge rd bluestones... (moreso when I moved back to unsuspended! :) ), although it was a lightweight, shortish-travel duallie. Have seen the odd commuter on something much more oriented to downhill, which baffles me...

Likewise, the ready availability of cheap, tonne-weight duallies has been a sad thing - Seen many budding commuters riding one of those hefty monstrosities...

Or people commuting on knobbly tyres... hmm...

I think I've spoken to this guy. He's got an older Mongoose dually (green?) with the Rohloff & Schmidt Disk. I hadn't seen the disk option on the Schmidt before. He said the bike is his only transport.

close. Red Mongoose Pro. guess byt the time he had blown all the doe on the hubs the frame was what was left!

the rear suspension was rather comical tho. he was bouncing riding across the pipe bridge, fairfield. from StK cycles apparently...

seen the same setup on a GT-iDrive which was smooth as. silly bugger couldnt stop grinning
