Polar 720 Battery
My 720 got a little funky today - said I was going 65mph when I was going 23 or so. It's never done this before - I figure the battery may be about to go (it's about 8 months old). Can I change it myself? If not does anyone know how long Polar takes to do this? Should a battery be done in only 8 months? Is that stuff about sending it in to an 'authorized' repair center just protection for them or can you do it yourself if you're careful? Thanks in advance!

I use mine quite a bit and have had for several years and never replaced the battery. If you use a HID lighting system, it will cause erratic behavior.

Thanks in advance! Its easy enough to do yourself, it just voids your warranty. The only place I could get a battery was from polar themselves.
No battery problems but I wouldn't void the warranty. I had my 720 over a year and the face plate came unglued and fell off. I called Polar - sent the unit back and 2 days later - they express mailed me a brand new one.

I have had similar problems....showing speed when i wasnt even riding sometimes, and heart rates of 226 and silly things like that. I think u can change the odometer reading in the interface with youor computer assuming you use this function. Im not sure where it is off the top of my head, but it is quite easy to find once the watch and computer are in sync................ Found it! just go to the "bikes" tab and click on the bike you wish to change (most likely "bike 1") and change the number in the box.
