View Full Version : Lemond upgrades
I recently bought a Lemond Nevada City road bike and I would like suggestions on upgrading the wheels, the originals being no-names; and the pedals, since the bike came with "normal" pedals. I am a college student and therefore money is a factor. also what shoes should I look into in conjunction with the pedals.

Depends on what you want to spend. Open Pro rims and ultegra hubs are as good as a bike like that needs, and are available from several sources from $200,to 250. You can spend alot more and gain little or nothing.

I'm a big fan of SpeedPlay's pedals. Light, easy to clip into and the X3's are pretty cheap at <$100 most places. As far as shoes go, finding a pair that fits well and comfortably is less important than brand. Hit the LBS and try a bunch of them on.
