I'm in the market for a new set of wheels for my Cannondale R800. Looking for something that I can train/race and ride in some triathlons next summer. I'm considering something built up with either Mavic Open Pro or Velocity rims. I've only ever ridden the factory wheels that came with my bike, so don't know alot about purchasing new ones. How important is it to have eyelets on the rims (Velocity doesn't)? I've heard of a clicking problem with Open Pros, any comments if this is as bad as some make it out to be? How much of an effect does an aero rim have?

Also has anyone used Ambrosio rims? My local shop has them, but I can't find alot of info on the web.

Thanks!

Mark

If you're having the wheels built up with the Velocity rims, make sure the builder really knows what they're doing. The lack of eyelets causes the spoke nipples to bind up if you aren't careful.
