Winter Jacket?
View Full Version : Winter Jacket?
What kind of winter jacket do you use?
I'm looking for insulated goretex, but can't seem to find just the right one.
I wear the bright yellow Altura Nevis and love it (good price).
It's ideal for winter. I normally wear a short sleve shirt or long sleeve thermal jacket underneath depending on the temperature. I think very occasionally I have worn 3 layers.

Did you get it at a local bike shop or online? I don't think I've ever seen that brand online?
Ah, you are probably in a different country to me - I'm in the UK.
If you want to see what it looks like check out: www.wiggle.co.uk - one of the nicest/easiest to use online bike shops I've ever seen!

That explains it! I sometimes forget these forums are international.
Thanks for the link.
A fully insulated gortex jacket would be great if your standing at a train staition. It may be a bit much for riding on all but the coldest day though. I would suggest a shell and layer your clothing beneath it. It becomes a much more flexible garment that way. Good gore-tex is expensive and you will want to get the most out of it. Look for one that has extra legnth in the back and some arm pit zippers.
