Pedal bearing seal cap

View Full Version : Pedal bearing seal cap

I've got a pair of those MKS touring pedals (the old style metal ones) on my bike. there is a
screw-on cap which keeps water etc. away from the bearings; but somewhere along the line the LHS
bearing cap has unscrewed and is probably now lying in the street somewhere in Reading.

Is there any way to get just one of these bearing caps (or a substitute like a rubber bung) without
having to buy whole new pedals? At the moment there is a quantity of gaffer tape keeping water out
of the bearing, which is not aesthetically pleasing (and will eventually no doubt lose its
effectiveness).

My LBS has a jar full of things like this. Depending on what sort of mood they're in, it's usually
free or some token amount.
