Before LC, to accomodate unexpected "fall out" from exercise or other
extreme physical activity.....it was drink a quick glass of OJ, or eat
half bananna, neither of which is allowed in beginning phases of LC.
So what do you guys eat or drink that quick fixes when Pottassium or
Blood Sugar plummets? How about V-8 Juice?
Do you suppose that would work? Even so it has 13 Carbs.

"Yea tho I walk thru the valley of the shadow of Fatdom, I fear
not...'cuz I got a pic of Atkins in my pocket."
LC since 6/1/04 150/144/110

Instead of quick fixes, try butching up.

Potassium: loads of food have them. No quick fixes but you can make sure you
eat a little bit of them in your diet. Off from the top of my head:

yoghurt
brazil nuts
banana (is not low carb)
avocado
spinach
cabbage
tuna
italian herb mix - sprinkle them every where in your food (marjoram, basil,
oregano and parsley)

You're promoting suicide?

Ok, I know you won't understand it so I'll explain it to you before you get
a headache.

You're a troll with the handle trollslayer. Get it now?

Probably not.

JC, did you OD on Carbs or what???? Suicide....where in hell did that
come from? ....handle? Stands to reason, consider the source. OK, now
run along little boy and talk on your CB, might catch a ride with some
nice trucker dude.
Speaking of troll, you contribute absolutely nothing to the group.
Look, Troll Breath, we already know we are fat. That's why we are here
anyway. We know we need to eat less and exercise more...just trying to
learn how to do it more effectively.
Why is that such a problem for you? How much do you weigh, Fat Man?
Maybe you should sweep the dust from your own back door.
Maybe you just need some good sex. Yours sounds like a classic case of
pure sexual frustration....better known in layman terms as Lack-O-Nooky.

You're fighting a losing battle. Best to just block his messages. He
ain't goin' anywhere anytime soon, and he's not going to change his ways.
We don't know how much he weighs. He's muscular, but very scrawny looking.

Yep, you can't take that away from the man. You could try, but he'd
probably punch you and call you fat.

Yes, I suppose I should block his messages. I'm ashamed to admit it, but
ole Troll Breath kinda intrigues me, and gotta say it gives me a chance
to vent my frustrations.
Sometimes I don't get very many responses to my posts. Not to worry, I
can always depend on JC, which might be merely to remind me that I'm
fat, dumb, and stupid. Low self-esteem? NOT! I love the attention!

Congratulations, Faye! You know what they say: "Practice, practice, practice".
It may be slow, but it DOES pay off. You and I should put bumper stickers on our
asses that say: "I may be slow, but I'm ahead of YOU" :-)

Patience pays off, if you view low carb as a way of life rather than a quick
fix you will have better results. I know that losing is harder for small
people and for those who don't have as much to lose, but I have gone from
292 on 6/23/03 to 237.5 now, still lots of fat to lose, but I am very
content as I have found a comfortable way to eat that results in slow but
steady loss.

No, that wasn't my experience at all. There's been nothing hard about this.
In the first six days, I lost eight pounds (out of a target of 26, later
modified to 21). I lost nothing the second week, three more pounds the third,
and then lost about a half pound each week thereafter. Two pounds a month may
seem slow if you're losing a lot, but if your weight loss goal is small or if
you're close to goal, it's not bad.
