im just wondering what kind of weight difference there is between the 04 9 speed group and the 05 10 speed?
as i already use the 04 9 speed group, i was just wondering is it worth up grading to the 10?
thanks in advance to those who answer with helpful constructive advice.

The new Ultegra (the whole Gruppo with Hubs, Headset etc.) is about 100g lighter. The cranks are a little stiffer.
To me, it doesn't make sense to upgrade.

Yeah, no way it's going to make a performance difference worth taking off perfectly good year-old components. I'd make the decision about 9 sp vs 10 sp when the original stuff wears out. Even then, not sure I'd pay the huge premium Shimano is getting for the 10 sp pieces.

Of course, Shimano is hoping we'll want the latest and greatest regardless of cost...that's what drives the marketing of these "improvements" every few years.
