Do you remember the "The Foot Doc Heel Counter Stabilizer" that was
advertised in Runner's World in the mid-1970's?

It was basically a U-shaped device that that went slipped on the heal
of the shoe, above the heel counter -- they allegedly would "help
reduce heel counter break-down which can result in supination,
pronation and running -related injuries. The counter controlled
rearfoot lateral heel strike compression.

The inventor was Gerry or Gary Power, and you could order them from
Petumpka, AL.

I'm trying to track down Gary Power, or talk to someone who used one --
or, best case, has one still!
