24-hrs Bike Marathon 2003 Fact Sheet Date: Saturday July 5 / Sunday July 6. Start and finish solo's
and teams 11.00 hrs. 12 hours bike marathon female: start July 5 11.00 hrs. 12 hours bike marathon
male: start July 5 23.00 hrs. Location: Bike course of the Rijswijk Bike Club 'De Spartaan': a fully
asphalted, flat and traffic free bike course of 1435 metres.
Possibility to camp around the bike course, or to stay the night in the changing room
(both for free)
Aim: To make as much kilometers as possible in 24 hours. No race, no fuss, no big event, no support
apart from what you bring along, just bike and have fun!
Team Relay Event: Besides the solo bikers, this event is also open for relay teams (mens/mixed teams
max. 3 bikers, womens teams max. 4 bikers).
12-hours event: Besides the 24-hours solo bikers (male + female), this event is also open for male
and female bikers who want to cycle for 12 hours.
Entry Fee: Solo bikers: EUR 15 Teams: EUR 24
Support: BYOS (Bring Your Own Support): crew, audience, coaches, spare parts, food & drink.
Prizes: None, just the sense of fulfillment and a small momentoe of the 'event'.
Required items: Regular road bike or time trial bike (no recumbents allowed) Hard-shell helmet must
be worn at all times. Bike lights (white on front, red on back) are required after dark. Bike
computer for measuring the distance covered.
Other: Maximum number of participants is 50. Drafting is allowed.
