This is my first reply so here goes. I am currently living in Tucson, Arizona, which a great cycling community by the way. My day job is as a trainer for Sears. I train people on how to handle inbound customer service and sales. We don't "ugh" telemarket. I am also musician, composer and arranger. When my bike is in working order ,which it is not currently but will be by tonight, I commute to work. When I'm in better shape than I am right now I ride such events as the Tour de Tucson or other charity rides for MS and ADA. I have recently become a fan of pro cycling. Wish we could get more than the Tour de France on TV in Tucson. My favorite cyclist is Erik Zabel. He is currently gracing my computer wallpaper. Erik if you're out there I would like to get to know you. My main biking goal is to put more miles on my bike than I do on my van.

Hi there

I'm a doctor in rural Victoria, Australia - in the Grampians National Park, for those with a map.
Ride daily, race weekly with Grampians vets.
Raced on my new set of superlight Ksyriums for the first time last weekend and was dropped by the scratch bunch, to finish last... I think I'll go get my coat!

Hi There,

My name is Mike and I'm from Australind in the South West of Western Australia. I'm the Manager of IT Services at Edith Cowan University. I'm 40 in a few weeks time .

I'm just starting out in the bike scene. Have an old bike that I used to commute to work on, but have decided to get a bit more serious about it. Hopefully with the help of the people on this forum I'll be able to pick up a few tips.

Cheers,
Mike

Hey all, this is my first post here.

I'm a 27 year old student from St. Louis, Missouri.

I've been riding mountain bikes for awhile now, but am still fairly new to road riding. I plan on getting in shape this winter and doing some racing this spring.

Glad to be here! :)

:) Hello everyone, my name is David and I'm from Mesa, Arizona. I just moved here a month ago to begin training for a tour across America starting early next year.
I'm debating whether to take my new laptop which only weighs 4 pounds or leave it at home. I just retired in June 03 and have been doing small projects for family in Texas which is why I haven't left on my tour.
Now I'm ready, sort of and awaiting the snow to melt away enough for me to get started. If anyone has a special route they liked while crossing the US I would appreciate some input.
I'm looking at the end of Februrary or mid March to get started. I do plan to bike to San Diego to dip my rear wheel in the Pacific Ocean to signify my departure point. I'll be coming back through Arizona and into New Mexico and that's as far as I've gotten on my route. I know I don't want to stay too far south and be in the heavy humidity states. So I'm thinking about 3 states up just pass New Mexico, then shoot across the US.

Thank you ahead of time for your advice.
