Welcome: bionic_bunny, hitdog, AnFearDearg, and Alan Obrien,
bunny_bionicI've always like Trek for bikes either road or mountain. Through the years I've own my share of them but as today I only own one Trek which is Trek 1000c and thats the one I'm using for my tour across the US. But lately I"ve have been reading up on Bent bikes (recumbents) and I would like to build one for myself. It would be a totally new project for me so I'll have to educate myself in all the skills needed but I have this idea that would be something that isn't out there yet.
hitdog nice website you have there, it's a different format and thanks for sharing your experience. Now that you've done it the big question comes up, "would you do it again?". This will be my first time crossing the US but I've read other tourllogs and some people do it again and again. I would like to be one of those people, it sounds like the best way to travel if you have time. I've mostly read travellogs from a great site call "crazyguyonabike.com", there is so much infromation there. But I like the way you formated your travellog by actually giving us "usefull information". Most of what I've read the writer loses focus and forgets about telling you what road there on and whether there are services consistantly. So many thanks for a well done travellog.
AnFearDearg and Alan Obrien, the nephew that I'm staying with in AZ has been to Ireland several times through work (Intel) and he loves the place. He said if he was single he would move to Ireland it's just that breath taking. I on the other hand have never been to Europe and frankly Europe doesn't appeal to me but Ireland and England do. I would imagine because of the accent and the pretty women there. lol I think Sara Brighton is one of the most beautiful women in the world not to mention her voice is wonderful as well.
Thanks for writing,
David ;)

Hi David,
I think you mean Sarah Brightman, former wife of the composer Andrew Lloyd-Webber. She's a fine looking woman all right, especially considering she's English! :D If she was Irish she'd have a twinkle in her eye, a cigarette in her mouth and she'd sound like Rod Stewart:eek:

LMAO !!
Boy was I off on that one. Yes I do mean Sarah from England but I could have sworn I listened to an interview from her and she really did sound like she was from Ireland.
Pretty damn funny response, thanks for the chuckle.
David :D

Msoup,
Thanks for the that quick note, but have you traveled acrosss the US like I'm planning to do come next spring? I'm looking for advice of places to camp and bike friendly roads if you have any suggestions please let me know.
So far I've read travellogs from www.crazyguyonabike.com and have gotten some hints on what to expect as far as weather and wind. But most of the travellogs lack detail information that others could use although I love the site to read others adventures.
Thanks again,
David

Kim,
That's great! But have you ever taking a long distance tour? I'm planning to this coming spring and I'm excited about getting on the road. I'm thinking about pulling a trailer like a Bob trailer, do you have any experience on Bob trailers? I'll be posting my travellogs on www.crazyguyonabike.com
So watch for my departure around late Feb. or Mar. or as soon as I file for my taxes. You know uncle sam always needs my pennys to run two wars.
Thanks for your input and please if you do have touring experience please share it, I love reading about other's experience.

I am from Bartow Florida, and "actually" I don't do much cycling. or at least, as much as I should. I am not adverse to the situation,I just don't have time since I am working both as a Tutor for K-3rd grade students, and I serve as Executive Assistant for Administrative Affairs(Long title,No money!), I do,however, have two onlines businesses that I would appreciate your taking alook at,that is, if it is kosher with the powers that be:

Kim,
I have never been to Canada although I would love to go some time. But on that link I posted www.crazyguyonabike.com there is one travellog that I have read about a guy who cycled highway 1 in Canada. Check it out and let me know if that is any help with your plans.
Presently I'm in Mesa, AZ which is a suburb of Phoenix but I plan to start my coast to coast trip from San Diego, CA. I do plan to come through Arizona and New Mexico and then head up north from there a couple of states and cut across easterly.
Keep in touch and do share your experience with others so we can all learn from you and your friend. Hitdog has a good site about his cross country tour.
