Hi, I'm from Utah (usa) ,and worked this year building homes in North Dakota:cool:. These days I ride mainly my mountain bike to give my dog "Oingo" exercise. He is now a 1-year old ACD, or "blue heeler".

Hello Everyone,

Hello there, I am a french man living abroad enjoying and sampling different cultures. I love cycling and I have a question for you all bike gurus. What is the best hardtail 29r money could buy? I would be gratefull for an answer. I live in the UK and here I could only set my eyes upon the Karate Monkey and Dean Colonel 29er. Does anyone know about importers of quality in the UK, Holland or even France? sheers

Does anybody here have hypoglycemia?Hi Lisamarie, I'm John, 70 going on 71:( . I've experienced low blood sugar while riding long distance, but never as a clinical condition or to the extent you're discussing.

My 9-year-old granddaughter is a feisty :) diabetic and her dad (my son) is a trained nurse, although he's in mental health, which means his clinical knowledge is not as extensive as that of a ureply clinical nurse.

Drop me a private message if you think my son or I can help. Meantime, you'll find a rich seam of material at -

All best wishes.

Hi everyone,

I'm from N. Ireland, but live in Hong Kong. I've just started cycling again after a gap of 5 years. It's great to be back! Have just bought an extremely sexy cannondale road bike. I only get to cycle at weekends due to the fact that it is a 50 min. ferry ride to my preferred cycling route. I would love to cycle to work but I haven't yet worked out a way to get my bike off Hong Kong Island first thing in the morning. It's good to see so many female cyclists out there, we are few and far between. I am looking forward to joining the cycling masses in Beijing in the new year.

Hi I'm steve, hail from the Chicago area. I cycle occasionally (once a week, weather permitting) for commuting (13 mile one way is too much time for me to do everyday) and just about every weekend for recreation and fitness. I ride about 2-3000 miles a year. Without cycling, I'd be a total blob, and even with, I've now reached the age (51) where I need to stop kidding myself that this exercise alone will keep me fit. It's just getting harder and harder to keep up with what I'd like to be able to do. Gotta walk away from the dinner table sooner. There's no alternative.

I ride a 12 year old Specialized Sirrus road bike. My buddies have started to kid me about it, but I see the lemons some of them have wound up with, and I like my present bike well enough that I'm willing to to pour money into it well over its original cost. It isn't that I'm cheap, it's that I don't see the need to ride a snob bike especially when I'm not sure it will ride any better than my current bike.

Hey all,

Just getting back into the cycling thing, primarily for fun no plans to enter competitions yet. I run a Mongoose 18 speed and am looking forward to talking with you all and sharing ideas and adventures. I am considering converting from the standard grip shift to the rapid fires and would appreciate any input yao can provide as in pros and cons.

G'Day xeroid, What part of Essex, my rides used to be from Manor Park out to Wanstead, down the A12, t/left at Gidea Park, out to Brentwood, t/left to Chipping Ongar, t/left North Weald Basset on to Epping, down through Theydon Bois, Woodford, Snaresbrook and home again. That was back when I was a youngster in my late teens and early twenties, 1955-1960's we did that ride Monday, Wednesday and Friday week in and week out summer training.
Thems were the days mate, the Bald Faced Stag used to serve hot Blackcurrant and the last one to arrive had to buy for the rest. I never bought a round? You guessed it, I was never last, crash hot bike rider in those days :D
I now live in Queensland, Australia, since 1968. I'm retired too, good fun EH?
Keep them tandem wheels turning, TBC

Catch yer soon EH? TBC :D

I am new to this forum, searching for bike reviews but this forum seems dead nowadays...?

I am currently living in Sweden with a past in the UK and Brazil. London was definitely better in terms of all-year training possibilities! Stockholm in December gives you a number of excuses not to do any outdoor excercising!

Hello all, My name is Dave and I live in New Jersey. I love mountain biking and I race for a team in Delaware called Y's Guys because of our "loose" affiliation with the YMCA in Wilmington, DE. I ride a Specialized Stumpjumper. I'm a bigger rider at 5'10" and 210lbs which makes uphill riding my biggest challenge in competetive events. I just bought a 1999 Trek 2200 road bike so that I can start training longer distances. I try and make the daily spin classes at the Y which are intense 45 minute sessions that focus mainly on cardio. Most of the time in these classes your heart rate is usually between 85-90% of your max heart rate. I'm looking forward to next years racing and I hope to finish in the top three for my age group which is 45-49. Our team finished 3rd overall in the small team division of the Trek Mountain Bike Series in 2004. We ride 5 races total in PA, DEL, NJ, and MD. If any one is interested we are looking for a few more riders for the 2005 season. Let me know? :)
