I was just on a cycling trip around Benelux and it was great. I was absolutely amazed by the adaptations for cycling. It's like the cities and roads are designed firstly for cyclists. No doubt this has a huge effect on the safety statistics of numbers of deaths per year. If anyone gets the chance I can't recommend it enough. Not to mention that the land is nice and flat, which makes the going slightly easier although it is quite windy.
Anyway I just wanted to share some of the pain I'm feeling at the moment at the theft of my bicycle in Amsterdam by some junkie. What can I say - avoid Amsterdam as it's very different to the rest of Holland.
