I'd only buy polar. Waste of money if your not doing s.e's or similar work.

I use a polar, its nice and reliable. Plus I think they just released one that is like a regular computer.

I have Sigma PC1600 and I wouldn`t buy it if I had known that it`s not coded. I have problems when someone rides beside me because in 90% of time it shows wrong.

I use the Polar 720 because I have a coach and I download my files of my workouts to him. If I didn't - I would definately go with something like a Cateye for my speed/cadence and then just use a low-end (~$120) polar for my heart rate. There are several polar models that are on-bike that you can get pretty cheap, but probably not under $200.

Im thinking of just getting a 'All in 1' speed/ HRM/ cadence computer. The Vetta V100HR looks good.

Yeah I agree, Polar is really good. I have the Polar S725X. It's on the expensive side, but worth it. You can analyze the data from your cycling in so many differnt forms on the watch itself, or even better: download the graph on PC, to get percentages averages, calories burned and tons more. It has everything you need for an ambitious cyclist. Altitude, temp, cadence (sold seperate), speed, distance, heartrate, calories, power (sold seperate). However my speed tends to jump around. for example if I ride under power lines or close to someone with the same polar, my speed sensor picks both ours up and my speed goes from say 32km/h to 64km/h for a few seconds. It's really annoying but you can fix it with "error correction" on the PC, although this is a slow and boring process. The wireless models are nicer than wired one's but sometimes not that accurate, as mentioned above. Even if you place the speed sensor on the front wheel as compared with the back one it can still jump around. My altitude meter sometimes goes haywire too especially with the seasons changing, one week it says I'm riding at average 30m above sea level then a few weeks later the same course I'm riding -100m but you can just reprogram it monthly. Other than that Polar is really good.
