I am closing in on purchasing a bicycle. My choices are F70, OCR1, 1500(I dunno about this one). I really like the Felt and think it is a great bike, but I see the OCR1 has an Ultegra rear derailleur. I might get into racing, but for now I am just going to train very seriously.

Is this a reason to get the F70? The F70 also weighs 20.1lbs...does anybody know what the OCR1 weighs in at?

The wheelset on the F70 is the Shimano WH-R500 wheels.
Vittoria Action HSD folding tires.

How do they compare with the wheels on the OCR1?

Make sure your shop can get a Felt for you before you go too far. I recently bought a new bike and the Felt F1C was at the top of my list until my dealer busted out the latest delivery projections. For some reason, they just now have started receiving many of the mid-level Felts and the top-shelf ones are nowhere to be seen. Production runs seem to have been low and they're having a hard time delivering. Do your homework first, Ace, and ask your shop if and when they can get you a Felt. :D

Well they have 2 F70 54cm and 1 F70 56cm and I do not think they will sell too soon...so I am not to worried about that.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion and help!

Hey, I just actually bought the 2005 Felt F70, and I love it! I converted it to a triathlon bike, because i used it everyday for training, and for triathlons, this is my first season doing it competetivly, and it has been a great choice so far. From what i've heard, once you get the the Shimano 105, that, ultegra, and dura ace are basically the same in quality, they others are just a little bit lighter than the 105.

Did you buy that new bike yet?
If your dad's old bike has a good frame, and it fits you, why not just put some up-to-date kit on and ride it until you can pass it on to your son?
Retro is cool.
