does anybody have these here? or those electric bike motor kits you can install on your bike? if so, how do they work for you? do ya like them? i always wondered about these. if i'm wrong about this i'm sorry, but to me these seem like a waste of money. the range is useless if you ask me, & to haul all that weight around with you all the time just so you can use that occasional boost of power like when going up a steep hill seems to be useless too. i'm not buying any of these bikes, but i'm just curious if anybody uses them & how you like them. the whole purpose of bicycling is to get excersise isn't it? anyway, i would like to get a fuel cell powered bike when they come out as an alternative form of transportation. much more range & no re-charge downtime, but i will always have a place for my old pedal powered "traditional" bicycles in my life...

Personally, I would never buy an electric bike. But thats because I'm young and don't have problems getting up hills.

I will however defend their use.

I've sold a few electric bikes to the elderly that want nothing more than to ride a bicycle just like when they were kids. So when I see the smile of someone who can now go outside and remember the times of when they used to be able to pedal around with the wind in their faces, then its cool.

I've just come across a website for a new type of electric bike called PowaCycle, I believe it's a British company http://www.powacycle.co.uk/ hope it helps.

I've just come across a website for a new type of electric bike called PowaCycle, I believe it's a British company http://www.powacycle.co.uk/ hope it helps. nothing new there really. their just typical electric bikes that i see everywhere. when you figure the periodic replacement cost of the batteries, these bikes become more expensive to operate than a gas cycle!
