Im a 15 year old triathlete and am going to start road racing (getting a road bike no aerobars) I consider myself a fairly strong cyclist, usually in a triathlon with no drafting I can average around 24mph for 30-40 miles with some good hills.

What are most averages like in Cat 5/Junior races? Im just worried of looking like a fool.

You're not going to look like a fool with that kind of speed. Just do some sprint training so the accelerations out of corners don't kill you. that's what makes a good crit racer, acceleration, not sustainable speed.
