How to do up toe clip straps????

Hi,

This may sound like a really stupid question but I hope someone could help me. I recently bought a second-hand road bike. The bike had toe clips attached to the pedals but the straps were taken off. I buckled the straps in what looked like a sensible way, however when I went to take off on the bike I wasn't able to tighten them without basically stopping and using both hands to thread the strap through the buckle. I have tried a couple of other methods of threading the strap unsuccessfully. Can anyone help me with some instructions of how to thread the straps or if there are any pictures on the web that would be great. I think thay are a pretty standard strap with a roller and clip type assembly (if that makes sense????)

Cheers,

Sam

Feed the non-buckle end through the pedal platform first, starting at the outside, twisting once and then through the other side of the pedal, then up through the loop in the top of the strap. Put the strap through only the first part of the buckle, between the roller and the solid part. When you pull UP on the strap it should tighten and when you push OUT on the buckle it should loosen. Don't tuck the rest of the strap in the buckle, leave it hanging.
