Do you never eat fish? Guess not?
Do you breath the air in any major city? Not if you don't want toxic car
fumes in your lungs.
Do you not eat peanut butter? Guess not....who knows what kind of rat hair
gets into that stuff?
Do you eat at restaurants? Who knows if the guy preparing your food really
washed the **** or piss off of his hands...
Stop worrying!

That is the stupidest argument I have ever heard from a moron here.

Better stay inside then. There is loads of it in the atmosphere, from
coal-burning generation plants, forest fires, etc.

What amazes me is that these people actually go out of their way on a
"mission" against dentistry and amalgam like they are saving the world
from a giant poison conspiracy.
Cigarette smoke is proven to be quite dangerous. I want to avoid it. I
easily avoid most exposure by chosing restaurants and businesses where
smoking is not allowed. However much I dislike smoking, I do not devote
a huge part of my life to try and have it banned world wide.
A logical person who believed amalgam was dangerous could act the same way.

BESIDES, mercury fillings are no good. If my patient is a jogger, the
mercury keeps sloshing over the sides of the tooth .....

The problem is that these anti-amalgamites do not think rationally. It is
futile to argue with them about it because in their mind, they have drawn
their own conclusion. I wonder, how many amalgams the average person has in
his/her mouth. It has got to be up there, especially baby-boomers. How
many of them are suffering from the "ill effects?" Probably 0%. If someone
has MS, and they redo the fillings with composite, and if they feel better,
more power to them. However, with shrinkage of composites and a lower wear
durability, plus the added stress of removing the old amalgam, a crown is
going to be the next option....a very costly choice.

Humanity is served a great service by keeping him inside at all times...away

Sometimes, I think that the anti-amalgamistas are actually shills for the
composite and crown makers.

People who are really concerned about mercury poisoning should give up
breathing.

You can't even make rational scientific arguments. You can only think
in terms of classifying people and by what you (falsely) percieve
other people think. That is you primitive guide to evaluting complex
concepts.
Considering the wide possiblity variability of amalgam composition and
technique sensitivity, someone like you shouldn't be allowed within a
mile of a dental office let alone running it.
Yes some of us on these boards have been posioned. My dentist was so
sloppy
I had high levels of copper in my blood and high levels of mercury in
my
hair. The bone around the filling was so pulverized it became soft and
left
the local OS scratching his head. (This also lead to spreading
infection in the
jawbone which they can't even treat or know what it is though it can
be
seen on the x-ray.)
You know what happened to that dentist? He took early retirement at
46,
ditched my records and others and tried to steal the patients (sell
part of the
practice) under the nose of his associate before he skipped town.
(( I also heard he snuck into the office at midnight to try to get his
records after being locked out by his associate and that his assistant
was so incomptent
she had to be quickly be fired by the dentist who took over)).
Now this noodle head is dead at 56 because of some other dumb things
he
got himself into (which I won't go into) and I can only conclude this,
.......I don't know how competent you are as dentist (you could be
very meticulous and very skilled) but the public should not be
subjected to incompenent/dishonest people handing mercury like him and
his assistant andpeople who have no RESPECT for it like you becaue
mercury is toxic, there are many variable involved with amalgam hg
release and yes amalgam can cause damage under the right
circumstances.

And what is the amount of Hg exposure due to amalgam vapor as opposed
to the environment? The reality is that if someone with amalgams held
their breath Hg exposure would increase because less Hg vapor from
amalgam would be exhaled.
