After being less than pleased with my stock Bontrager Select wheels, I've been mulling over the idea of getting some Campy Zondas. But first, for those in the know:

1) Will my Shimano 9-speed cassette fit on a campy wheel?
2) Can the wheel be trued without taking the tire off (exposed spoke nipple)?

1. No, the shimano cassette will not directly fit onto the Campagnolo freehub, however Campy does make a Shimano compatible freehub body to fit their hubs.

2. Yes, spoke nipples are exposed at the rim.

I have had a set for about a year now. They are excellent wheels. Reasonably light, somewhat aero, but not brutally stiff the way Rolf or Kysrium wheels are. (in fact I bought them because the Rolfs I had were hammering my hands to a pulp on a long ride)

Very handsome wheels, too.

Do they stay true? That's what bugs me about the Bontragers... totally go out of true all the time.

I have put about 8,000 km on my Zondas. They are as true as the day that I bought them. I am 89Kg and my wieght is not a problem for these wheels. the only issue I have with them is that they are a bit "soft". there is heaps of flex in them when you sprint. Sometimes I am sure that I can feel the front rim on the brake pads when I'm hammering. Still, all around great value for money.

Still true after a year of riding. I tend to switch off between the Zondas and a set of Zipp 404's in tubular. In that year of riding, I've trued the Zipps twice, and haven't touched the Zondas.

One tip - get on ebay and buy a set of Rolf titanium skewers, you should be able to get a black pair for around $20. The stock Campy steel skewers weigh a ton.

Zonda's are a fantastic all-round wheel at a very good price.

Bontrager selects are probably the crappiest wheelsets out there.
Zondas as all other wheelsets by campy are very solid buys. One trait though on campy wheelsets is that they are a bit hard to mount tires (specially michelins) on.

I've had to have mine trued about 7 times since I bought the bike in July. Today my LBS agreed to warranty the rear wheel. We'll see if there's any improvement in the replacement. Will still probably get the Zondas after I save a little cash.
