New York City transit strike...why not bike?

Since 2001, over 90,000 cyclist's have joined Cycling Forums to discuss topics from general cycling to equipment, training, racing and travel or vacation destinations (especially in europe during the tour de france). The New York Times has what appears to be a neat Google Maps hack that shows individual commuters' stories of dealing with the subway/bus/etc. strike. How rad would it be if a bunch of great "I rode to work and loved it!" stories made it on that map? I've only glanced at a few, but at least one was saying how much they enjoyed the exercise of walking to work---a joy that we cycle-commuters are well familiar with.
