I am new to this group and just getting back into cycling after a long layoff. The equipment has changed so much and I am looking for a bike that I can ride in charity rides etc. No racing. I have been looking at flatbar road bikes and the position seems much better for myself than the drops ( never felt comfortable on the drops and was 20 yrs younger)Was wondering about the Novara Forza..seems like a good deal, also looked at Marin bikes, nice.Any input would be great. Thanks.

OK. Felt is my suggestion, they are local, the SR101->SR71 Speed Bike range are generally better for older riders (I'm over 55) as they have shorter top tubes for the same size as other makes. http://www.feltracing.com/HOME.html

Edit: I just looked at the specs of the bike you like. It is good value for the price. http://www.rei.com/online/store/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&catalogId=40000008000&storeId=8000&partNumber=733548&memberId=-2000&link=1&cm_ven=ps_Tleader&cm_ite=datafeed&source=14804&cm_pla=pd_inclusion&cm_cat=datafeed Just be careful on the sizing, have a ride on it first.

Thanks George I will check it out. I have an opportunity to pick up a Novara forza brand new for under 500.00 usd. Does anyone out there have a Novara Forza and what do you think of it. Thanks, Paul

I'm also looking for a flat bar road bike and am leaning toward the '06 Fuji Ultimate. specs look good for around $1000. Has anyone had any experience with these? Last year they were the "Royale."

Take a look!

Ride on!
