MTB in Canada near Vancouver

Can anyone recommend any location / company for MTB in Canada - going out in early August for 2 weeks and want to experiece DH MTB with family - challenging but not crazy riding.

There are some great spots in around the West Kootenays: Rossland, Nelson and Castlegar are well served with trails, rail beds, old logging roads and low cost accomodations.

Both North Vancouver and Whistler have great trails for mountain biking. Both places will also have bike rental places. Cove Bikes in North Vancouver (http://www.covebike.com/home.html) and Summiit Sports in Whistler (http://www.summitsport.com/summer/) are two worth looking at.

Both places would also be able to recommend trails to fit your ability.
