Upgrades
View Full Version : Upgrades
hi i've just got a saracen tour its nothing flash but its my pride n joy. Its my first road bike so i thought instead of saving forever and then buying a road bike that i might not even like. It was werth getting something cheap but not that cheap. I wonna start buying some posh parts for it, make it the talk of the streets. i've got about £100 bi-weekly to spare for the tarting up. But i dont know were to start. any suggestions.

As a general rule, compoent upgrades don't make economic sense.
If you want to buy your bike a present, I'd go for a fancy wheelset. You get a lot of bling for your money because everybody will notice them and you can take them with you when you buy your next bike.

You spent less than £300 on the bike, why would you want to spend hundreds more in upgrades? Use the money instead to buy cycling clothes, shoes, tools, etc.
Instead start saving money, so while you learn with this bike, you can use your new found knowledge to build a sick bike later.
