Looked quite sick after the rest day and having to abandon in Stage
11. Anyone know what the deal was? The infamous stomach virus?

Sad to see a usually tough m.f. not being able to finish a Tour. I remember him soloing off the
front in the last stage in 2000 (or whenever it was), stealing points from Zabel in a vain attempt
to get O'Grady the green.

Heard the commentator say he had food poissoning.
