I should have kept a list of all the posters here that agreed with that "Ullrich over-rated" thread.
Phil and Paul have been predicting this situation all week, so I wasn't "shocked and awed." Just
because you take some ecstacy and drive over some bike racks doesn't mean you've lost your stuff.

I just want to know where all the naysayers are that claimed that Ullrich needed to separate himself from his entourage, Pevenage, et. al. in order to get his act together.

a very impressive performance indeed. But let's see him keep up with the Postal Express in
the Pyrenees.

Don't forget to include Jan Ullrich on your list. Today's ride surprised even him - he
basically said so.

I will 'fess up. I did not think he should have brought all of those dudes with him. He proved me
wrong. I am really surprised. This is old news though. He has me convinced this spring.

One's right here. I really thought he should've gone to CSC without the entourage. I'm very
pleasantly surprised that he was able to do it with them around. If Jan finally has it together,
and given the shape he was in coming into the Tour it looks like he does, it could be a tough
couple of years for the rest of the field. Bill C

So other than Pevenage wha'ts this "dudes" myth exactly? Is it Riis' comment?

The German Diesel, that's crap. It should say "The German Turbo-Diesel".
So, Lance looks a hell of a lot smarter now doesn't he??

His personal coach (Peter Becker), his own director (Rudy Pevenage), and a domestique (Tobias
Steinhauser).
I had thought that he would do better mentally with all new surrounding, coach and director. I am
glad I was wrong.

Bianchi and Euskatel blew the Postal team away on Stage 14 on the Mente. Good defensive strategy
from USPS putting a climber up the road, though. Did anyone else wonder what would have happened if
Beltran had done a deal with the others in the break and just gone for it?
