i could swear that the UCI TT regulations state that the aero bars may not extend further than the
front hub. i have seen photos in the past of race officials using some sort of measuring gadget to
ascertain the validity of a rider's TT position. and this isn't some attempt to discredit Ullrich
since the photos of Lance and others reveal similar anomalies.
ok, i just found this:
<quote>
The position '0' (where the hands may not be positioned forward of the hub of the front wheel) has
been approved as the rule for cyclists in mass start road races, for cyclists in match sprint and
points races on the track. The position '+10' may be adopted for time trial races on the road, and
individual and team pursuit on the track.
These new positions will come into force on 1 January 2000.
</quote>
so apparently '+10' must indicate the amount in centimeters that your aero bars may extend beyond
the front hub. well look at that, i have answered my own question.
silly UCI, before you know it they'll have the riders using fixies riding up to Huez, 42x15 anyone ?
