Greetings all,

Q: Lets say Lance was able to have put out the additional energy necessary to have won the ITT. - In
that case, how much would that additional output cost him the following day? Asked another way,
will Jan suffer tomorrow as a result of his win today, and if so, by how much?

This is the first "Tour" I've followed, and I really don't have a feel for such dynamics.

What is the typical performance of a rider the day following a massive effort?

I would think that sports scientists know the answers, and can compute probable calories and times
based on long histories of monitoring rider performance.

Thoughts anyone?

There seems to be a difference between GC contenders and "regular" domestiques or specialists. Most
riders can't give 100% on consecutive days. GC contenders and "super domestiques" can go hard day
after day.

Or maybe it's that the GC contenders are at a high enough level that their 90% efforts exceed the
100% from everyone else.
