Hey everyone, I am converting my P-1 to 9-speed and have an opportunity to buy a used E-13 SRS with 40t supercharger bashguard. My question is, what is the drawback to using a 40t supercharger if I use a smaller sprocket? I assume it will work. I was thinking of using somewhere around a 36t. Thx, Dave.

Problems with using a larger bashring than necesary, cut/bruised/chipped bone, on that little bone that sticks out of your ankle. I use a 40t bashring with a 32t ring, and have multiple times badly bruised that bone on my ankle. Usually occurs through root sections and other places where your feet slide around on the pedals.

Hope that helped.
