View Full Version : Underjersey wear

I'm wondering if anyone here wears a light layer under their jersey. I have done it when it gets colder here and an extra layer of under armour helps. I have not done it in the summer time but I've noticed that sellers like Pearl Izumi offer such clothing. Is it normal to ride in hot weather with 2 tops on?

I always wear a baselayer, no matter what the temperature. In winter like you say i wear underarmor, and in the summer i've got some of those really lightweight sleevless things, some made by voler, some by Defeet and some new ones by Craft which seem to be a little heavier and better for days that aren't supper hot, the others are good on even the hottest days (100 or so here in NJ). I really like them, not sure if they make me feel cooler, but more comfortable, the jersey isn't sticking to my body when i get sweaty.

Craft stuff works well. Even in the hot days a base layer is often worn.

sleeveless Craft for summer, underarmor and Craft for winter. The Craft wears well after many washes and it is not too expensive.

On cooler days, go old school.......stuff a newspaper under the jersey to protect the chest from the chill. They still sometimes do this on big mountain descents in the grand tours......It does the job and is cheap!
