View Full Version : Citizen Arnold

Ilan Vardi

For all you people out there in California, who might some day be asked whether you want Arnold
Scwarznegger as governor, here is just one of the things he said, while on the French TV show "Velo
Club", which is the post stage recap show. When asked about his impression, following stage 11, he
said: "...It very impressive to see these riders doing 153 kilometers which is almost 100 miles
(lots of emphasis here)..." My wife said that there is the possibility that this was also being
recorded by some American Network, which is a "Deus ex machina" solution consistent with his movie
plots, I suppose.

Guess Who

Although I like his movies, I would have preferred one of the pretty ladies (or even Robin Williams)
to give Lance his yellow jersey.

Well thay already had one second rate actor as Governor who went on to become a third rate President
so they ought to know the score.

So if in the fullness of time they want a third rate actor, who is to question their wisdom?

Arnold is a far better actor than Reagan was. But he can't be president.

I believe I read somewhere that one of the teams was wearing small camera to document the race (pain
, suffering , joys ). For I don't know. Who know the next reality tv show.

Imagine someone who calls himself "Davy Crockett" writing something like that. I guess it just goes
to show that dribble lipped morons are likely to call themselves anything.

Sometimes it's embarassing to be a part of the California electorate.

The Terminator is about as intelligent as the rest of the politicians.

There are exceptions to the rule though. Perhaps the smartest person I ever met was a
businessman/politician.

The TV coverage (here in Oz) said Tyler Hamilton is making an IMAX film during this TdF - the film
is about the human brain, but set in the Tour (there's some irony there).

I'm not sure whether:
- he is wearing a camera
- this is partly why he has persisted in finishing the Tour despite a broken collarbone (which
forced even our Stuey out a few years ago, and he's a hard man)

P.S. before you reply with disbelief and indignation, obviously Tyler would have other stronger
and more personal reasons for wanting to finish, I'm just saying the IMAX film might have
played a small part in his decision.

Tell me about it, I'm in Florida, we can't even mark or count our ballots.

Bryan Boldt

Right. The TDF is a farce. The climbs are CGI and the riders are really on rollers. Beloki didn't
really crash, it was a stunt double. 100 miles is the furthest distance anyone from Hollywood
would drive to dumb a body. AND for the ultimate comparison... this is Lance's 5th TDF sequel
(yes, 6 total).

But we expect that from old people!

No the old people don't live in Florida. They live in New York, Ohio, and Michigan. Their parents
live in Florida. ;-)
