yes or no?
No, of course not. But, they should standardize the equipment used. The point of the hour record -- at least it used to be -- was to determine the best tt rider through the ages. If they're going to standardize the distance and the course (a velodrome) then they should standardize the bicycle as well.
But, maybe that's why no one does the hour record anymore... because it can't be taken seriously.
Yes or no: Eddy Merckx, the best rider of all time?
Absolutely! He won practically everything. And let's face it; though the equipment he was using was excellent, it doesn't compare to the stuff available today.
Next question: How many TDFs would Armstrong have won if he'd done spring classics and a Giro d Italia or two?

Next question: How many TDFs would Armstrong have won if he'd done spring classics and a Giro d Italia or two?Not sure how I can answer Yes/No, but I would say less than 7. Maybe still 3 or 4.
Question: If they both ride the tour in 2007...who will win perform better, Basso or Ullrich?

Question: If they both ride the tour in 2007...who will win perform better, Basso or Ullrich?
Ullrich, by the slimmest of margins.
Question: Will either of these riders have completely (dna submission) cleared themselves of the Operation Puerto investigation by July of 2007?
Ullrich, by the slimmest of margins.

I think the appeals and procedures will last for years, and even if they are cleared (from a legal perspective) any win they have will be met with scepticism from part of the community, so they won't really be "clear".
Question: Do you think pro-riders get envious of other teams who race "nicer/better" equipment? For example, do AG2R (who ride B-Twin) sigh in envy when Rabobank glide by on Colnago C50's?
Question: Do you think pro-riders get envious of other teams who race "nicer/better" equipment? When ever you have people that have and people that don't have there will be envy involved.
will PB win the Amstel this coming spring?
will PB win the Amstel this coming spring?
Yes.
Now my question.
Is this a Yes or No quiz?

Question:
Will the Vuelta a Espana survive? They've always struggled with crowd numbers, tv ratings...and drug scandals. Will the 3rd Grand Tour still be here in 5 years?
That is a tough one, I will have to say yes though. Even though it is thought to be a dieing race, it has many traditions that will keep it alive. Racers also like racing this. As to weather it will stay a grand tour or not is up to the Cycling federation and all the revamping of the pro circut.
Question: Was discovery signing Basso a good idea or not?
- consider the resent scandal, whether he is innocent or guilty and if discovery is just coping out because they figured out they didnt do as well without a big rider at the Tour last year

Yes, I think it's a good idea.
For Discovery: They will sell a million more jerseys and have a GT favourite.
For Basso: He gets to ride the ProTour and continue his attempts to prove his innocence.
For the fans: Assuming Basso isn't subsequently charged, we'll get to see a great rider in a strong team.
Question: Will SRAM ever challenge Shimano and Campagnolo? By that I mean, will either Shimano or Campy ever have less market share than SRAM?

Good question. In simple terms, Shimano has quantity in the market, and Campy has quality (please, no debates http://cyclingforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif). This hardly leaves room for a third competitor. However, due to SRAM's great product, if they can find a way to outproduce Shimano, we just might see some competition. That's sort of a "yes."
My question: Will Basso stay with Discovery for more than 1 year/season?
My question: Will Basso stay with Discovery for more than 1 year/season?I left it a day or so before responding (I've answered a few here, don't want to be selfish  ).
Yes, Discovery won't let him go easily. If Basso has a good pre-season, he is capable of winning both the Giro & the Tour...which will give Discovery the publicity that I'm sure they missed in 2006. The associated sales of Discovery apparel and Trek/Bontrager equipment can't be underestimated either. The only thing standing in Basso's way...is Operacion Puerto.

Yes.
Should we only credit Lance with 4 Tour wins given that he tested positive to corticosteroids in 99 (and later also the Epo) so that he should've been kicked out in '99 and missed '00 and '01?
Yes.
Should we only credit Lance with 4 Tour wins given that he tested positive to corticosteroids in 99 (and later also the Epo) so that he should've been kicked out in '99 and missed '00 and '01?Definitely not. I don't know the details on those results you've mentioned, but to do that would require doing it for every other rider in all other races...not a desirable (or helpful) undertaking.
Question: Are compact chainrings a fad? I have some...so clearly I don't think so...but curious to hear from others.

Question: Are compact chainrings a fad? I have some...so clearly I don't think so...but curious to hear from others.Hmmm, they're here to stay. The make sense in the mountains, but switching back to full-size rings is far from seamless. There front der is the biggest issue. FSA makes a front der from compact that works very well.
Do the GTs need the UCI?
Do the GTs need the UCI?
No way! Wish the UCI would stop trying to "internationalize" the sport. History has a lot to do with our sport and playing with tradition must be done in very small steps, not trying to be F1 overnight (or ever)!
Question: Would you rather win a major cobbled classic, or win Worlds?

Question: Would you rather win a major cobbled classic, or win Worlds? Not really a "yes or no" question but yes, I would love to win a cobbled classic! I rode over some cobbled roads yesterday for the first time, and really if the section was any longer I'm not sure I could have done it. It was just brutal, way more difficult than I had ever imagined, the vibration robbed me of my speed and the feeling I had in any part that was connected to the bike – amazing.
My wife's dog ate my latest edition of Bicycling the day it arrived, should I sell her to the local Chinese restaurant for stir-fry, yes or no?
My wife's dog ate my latest edition of Bicycling the day it arrived, should I sell her to the local Chinese restaurant for stir-fry, yes or no?Ambiguous question, so I'll answer both interpretations:
If you're talking about your wife - Yes. Take what you can get for, after all, she can't control that dog of hers.
If you are talking about the dog - No. It obviously has good taste (which may be why the restaurant is interested.
Question - Would the GT's be more interesting if the riders had to compete on fixies (double-sided rears to make it a little easier in the cols)? It would be up to them to decide whether or not to whip out the ring spanners at the bottom of a climb.

Question: Is the Zoncolan the hardest climb in Europe?
wwNo... .
Question: Is the Zoncolan the hardest climb in Europe?
No. The Koppenberg is. It's a rare day that a touring rider makes it to the top on a road bike, let alone full time athletes, especially if wet.
Question: Is the World Championship RR the ultimate one-day race to win?

Question, is my cock as big as I think it is?
