Upgrade forks on 1998 Trek 7000??
Guys,
I am looking at upgrading my 1998 Rockshox forks (not sure of model, doesn't say) to new 2003 Rockshox Duke XC. A friend has told me to ensure that my frame will take the 1' 1/8 inch steerer. Does anyone know if the 1998 rockshox were this size? How can I measure them?

Thanks for your help.

To measure them you have to take the fork out of the frame, and put a caliper round the part that would normally be hidden within the frame. You could also email Trek, they have a good service bunch and will probably be able to tell you. That or take it into a bike shop, who'll probably be able to say just by looking at it.
