carbon frame vs. repair stand clamp
View Full Version : carbon frame vs. repair stand clamp
Contrary to the implication in the title of this thread, my new frame has not seen the fight with the repair stand as yet. My concern is with the fram being placed into the tightening clamp of my "Ultimate Pro Elite" repair stand. I think this is a good stand and obviously I would not tighten it too much, but will it hurt to put a carbon fiber fram into this type of clamp. It suggestes the seat post (also carbon fiber) but for convenience sake, the top tube of the frame would be better. I sure don't want to screw up the frame though. Any suggestion from this type of stand owners or anyone else who has an opinion would be appreciated.
Thanks
Shawn

Either get a cheap metal seatpost to use when the bike is in the stand, or don't clamp too hard on the CF tubing. The first option is better, but people to use option 2 without damaging their frames.
Check out this thread, between the fighting theres some info.
