Riding in the Himalayas would be absolutely awesome. Hell, walking through there would be fantastic. Dunno about the organisation, but non-stop curries would kill me.
i love the adds on that site " online marriage " etc. classy!

Okay, enough Koffee bashing already. She done wrong, got her wrist slapped, end of story. No need for vilification.
What?!? No vilification? No cheap and frankly gratuitous parting shots? No rubbing salt in the wound?
It's not as though I'm being selfish: I made sure to bring enough for everybody!
You want some bile with that?

I think the Himalayas are magnificent, but I would prefer to admire them from afar. What altitude is this event taking place at? For all you sea-level types, it could prove quite challenging physically if you were tempted to try it.

This is more North-West in India.
Damnit, who nicked my India LP guidebook!?!?

hmmmm...I couldn't get my 'posts per page' setting to change
EDIT: forget it. It worked after a few refresheses
thinking out loud: I've had about 6 flats in my car in my life; 3 of them in the last 6 weeks!! I'm starting to get pannaroid that someone's sneaking up to my house and screwing big bolts into my tyres. :) no spokes to go into the tube , no kevlar, i know 130pi is way to much for a car tyre.

Years ago I travelled from New York to Colorado Springs by car. I was hoping that the drive would start me acclimating to the altitude instead of just hopping off the plane. No love there: one of my lungs is still nailed to a mile marker on Pike's Peak. I can't imagine what four times the altitude would be like.
Although a 58mph average speed going back down was quite fun (fun= f*cking terrifying). I had my friend drive me up for the second run down, hee hee!

Hey, for all you MTB fans out there, how cool/dodgy/awesome does this look?
http://mtbhimachal.sifymax.com
I say cool because the Himalayas are spectacular, and dodgy because I've experienced Indian organisation first hand.
Fark me absolutely senseless!!!
How cool would that be! Count me in! (I reserve the right to pull out in a couple of minutes when I think about it more. ;) )

Tallest pass is only 3223 metres! Piss easy!
A week hanging out in Shimla should get the hemoglobin or whatever up.
Failing that, anyone got Landis' doctors number?
I went to just shy of 4000 meters when I visited Nepal. Oh yeah, that's some headache you get up there. Oh boy.

It would be amazing to start a ride in Shimla. I did a ride from Delhi to Chandigarh last year. After finishing the ride we were driven up to Shimla for the day. What an incredible place. I only wish I had more time to explore the area.

I went to a couple of McDonalds in India. They have signs up saying that they don't sell any beef or beef products. I'm not sure what that was in the other burgers but I stayed with the chicken.
Mind you, they didn't have a Maccas in Shimla.

does everyone have rain bikes? !absolutely!! That's what aluminium is for. I got 2 rain bikes. I can't stand indoor training. I usually went insane after 20 or 30 mins, at that was with a fan, the TV, radio, phone and magazines. I sold it years ago.
I've got a theory that stationary riding is so uncomfortable because the bike doesn't move around (at all!!) the way we're used to on the road.

Hey 531, to carry on from some comments in the old TAT - my brother rang me to say he saw the Malmsteen gig advertised and wants to see how it compares to the Steve Vai gig of all those years ago. Looks like I'd better dig out the ear plugs & start growing my hair!!:D
