At least you got something worthwhile from going to watch it I suppose.:)
I see they are predicting large crowds for the Vic champs in a couple of weeks. At least that's the PR spin on the website. Ballarat in mid Aug = cold!!!Ballarat is the coldest place on earth. Rode a Melbourne-Ballarat one year where the maximum temperature for the day was 9C...and it was 5C at the start in Rockbank....and it rained....and what was left of the scratch bunch caught us halfway up the Pentlands....and we didn't catch the outmarkers......and blokes went to hospital with hyperthermia. Truly. I won the second scratch/B grade prize though:D
Fell off in the bunch sprint the following year and lost a shitload of skin.:(

I thought the Stig was spewed forth from the bowels of Hell (like Der Jan) so he didn't have a mum.
It would have been funny if they'd had a little old lady rev-head as a ring-in for the Stig's mum. I guess 70-year-old women who can slide it through corners aren't very common.

A question for those from CC of NSW, do any riders that you know with say 39/23 or 25 lowest gear ride up Bumble Hill out Yarramalong way. It has 3 short steep section with the last being the steepest.
A few months back I got obsessed with riding up steep hills, so whenever I saw one, as I work in WSC area, I’d just have to try it. Bumble is one of them but the steepest/hardest so far is Anderson Rd Glenning Valley. Any other good ones you could offer as suggestions.
I know this is a bit of a wank but it will pass when I get fixated on some other cycling challenge.
Maybe I’m just trying to justify having a triple, with a 30/25 low:)
TAN is definitely where you guys should be, the BF location never made any sense to me [just like most of the posts] :D

hmmm....I just learnt some Bike Forums history -- I think it was on that "Koffee Conspiracy" thread :p
Apparently, BF used to be a quaint little forum until about 2002, when the breaking of some story about Kryptonite's best bike lock being openable with a Bic pen. This brought on a deluge of new members and knuff-knuffs, and, hence, the forum we have today :)

Hail Aussies (and Newzies?) and other assorted Oceanians from a Yank Bikeforums.net poster and occasional browser of the TaT thread.
I just read about all the drama (I was in the hospital during it) and wanted to say good on you as a collective for catalyzing a certain zealous moderator's dismissal there.
That is all. Carry on.
EDIT: Strange new forums, by the way - the unicycling forum has over 17,000 posts?

bugger, I didn't even realise there was a GP on last night and now I've missed 'the best race in living memory'?
Any ideas on where to watch it on the web?
I dunno if it was the best race in living memory but it had few dull moments. Just maybe the English press will lay off Jenson '113 GP and no victory yet' Button for a while.

Yeah but it's such an oddball little thing, I'd get it for it's quirkyness alone. :)
I'm often told I'm a bit oddball. But my quirkiness never gets me the girls. What gives?

You'd only get the Stig's Mum in a hatch back if it was the new Mazda 3 MPS or one of those mad Alfa's with the V6 shoe horned in the front.

;)But I can still enjoy my 4-5 hour rides on the weekends;)
... and Bathurst is still sacrosanct. The wife and kids don't understand, but it's only once a year.

You are kidding aren't you? Bathurst sucks these days. Watching Foulcans and Dunnydores chasing each other around the track is about as exciting as watching paint dry.
I would really love to see a proper 24-hour at Bathurst with road cars (and the usual mods allowed for safety reasons). I remember they did something like that some years back. That might even drag me (and Mr Matagi) out there to actually watch a race.

Webber to Red Bull. interesting. dunno if its a step forward though. on the bright side, no budget issues. back with the old jaguar team who he liked, at last a close to top knotch team mate, and Adrian Newey doing the aero design.
could be a good year but i wont hold my breath.

To the barricades comrade!
I just checked out the sunshine today...then I checked the thermometer.
"We shall not be moved" won out over "We shall overcome". :)

I think I remember reading a race report about a Melb/Ballarat where dudes ended up with hypothermia. Nasty.
One of my mates reckons it can be a harder race than the Warny just because of the terrain & the weather.
Oh yeah, nice work on the prize too :)
