I love that joke. Applies to about 15 states which is very handy.

anyone feeling jingoistic?
how much do we revere Emma Colson? :) I posted one of here articles on pedaling technique, and it got a bit hung on, with stuff like:
...."And Bicycling Australia is the place to get all your scientific research references too. " "That would be equally as foolish."
"Yep, this is the very article that discouraged me from trying to work on my upstroke. Her recommendations were: 'Don’t do one legged pedaling exercises
and don't focus on developing an upstroke'
Any thoughts out there? Thanks for the other pearls of wisdom too."

Ric Stern's mantra is: "one-legged drills are only useful if you are interested in one-legged cycling."

who's tried that? OUCH!! Hurts the knuts :)
drills schmills, I reckon. A lot of coaching stuff is over-complicated and over-emphasised. The fastest guys I see are the ones that race the most, are in the best shape (skinny), and have some natural ability.
How about Brad McGee coming off the Tour and winning whatever ever Olympic that was, with NO specific training!! All he did was bust his guts for a season

Exactly. Get out there and do the kays.....nothing else matters.
Like Rob Crowe said to me once: "A bloke like you should be doing 200km rides AT LEAST twice a week..."
