Doug Mulray crashed his on the day of delivery in a Sydney tunnel. 330mm brake discs don't work so good when they're cold....
hehe, I remember that famous f***up
I was at Kellow-Falkiner when the car came to Melbourne... with a 24hr guard  Plonked it right in the middle of the workshop and noone was allowed near it.
...heard a rumour that they had to fly a new bonnet out of the UK after the bingle, and the bonnet was a spare for Elton John (had his name written on the underside) ...could be BS though.

I'm sure I read somewhere that there are still new ones available!!!
There certainly were some years back, but I don't know if that is the case now.
It was originally specced as a V12 4WD - that would have been an awesome unit! Unfortunately, they ended up producing a V6 twin turbo RWD car instead, which caused a lot of people to cancel their original orders, so that they almost couldn't give the cars away.
It is a mean looking machine in the flesh.

I've read about that. The thing was supposed to do 220 MPH too, but couldn't. They got one of the pommie F1 drivers. Brundle or Warwick or someone, to have a crack at it at Nardo in Italy. Put a different exhaust in and everything, but didn't quite manage it. If I remember the excuses were'we had to back off a touch for the dip' (theres a slight dip somewhere in the track at Nardo) and 'at altitude we could crack 220...' :)

missed some track rings and cogs at a reasonable price last night by 2-3 seconds because the stupid confirmation page to 40 seconds to load. Stupid Ebay sucks.
Autobid, my little cupcake, way faster than you will ever manage with propagation delays etc over the ether. ;)

True, methinks. Sir Elts bought chassis #00002 or something.

Totally PWN3D by the McLaren F1, though. In all respects.

531. I've seen the Cannondale I mentioned the other day. It's farkin' beautiful. Saeco candy apple red.
Ta for the advice on the price. The person who brought it had a gentle go at screwing the price down a touch. The shop owner and his staff were near apoplectic. They spluttered and got all offended and everything, so 1k must have been really good value.:D

It matched Elton in that it had a little thatch job done on the roof.

Yeah the McLaren F1 would be a close second in my performance car fantasy. :)

My performance car fantasy involves travelling around on the 'Nympho Girls Go Wild' tour bus.

LOL.
And to relate that to cycling, one of the "College Girls Go Wild" (or something like that) tour buses hit a bloke riding his bike in the USA recently. Not fatal, so I hope they "looked after him" well. ;)

Yeah, Billato is the one. They look like they build for half of Italy's marques these days.
*edit* Some more pix of Ti frames in the gallery if anyone's interested.

I reckon if you rang around you'd find that it's a good price. :) That's about the same price I paid for the BMC, which is the bottom rung BMC model, and probably made in Vietnam

Physio today - disc haematoma is what they reckon... they had me in traction for 1/2 hr trying to get me to 6'.
I'm allowed on the trainer as long as I'm upright, but no racing for 2 weeks...

How on earth did you manage a disc haematoma?

Don't know.
I wasn't really lifting anything heavy or anything like that... just moved a motorbike off it's stand and pulled back to reverse it... soon as I pulled back on the bars, twang!
Physio says it's not serious, just look after the back and do the exercises and it'll come good.

I'm jealous too, pity they didn't have any in a 57. Just quietly, I like it heaps better than the De Rosa Merak I mentioned earlier.
I liked the earlier versions of the Merak. The newer ones are over the top IMO.
