hello. i want single speed

i have an old 18 gear peuguot racer its very nice. but i cycle in london and don't need my gears. can someone advise me on how i can change over to single speed with freewheel? much appreciated. thanks. :)

Ebay listed company called Bicyclesupply has a really good and good value set up for the rear end of a singlespeed. It consists of a chain tensioner, a 18 sprocket and spacers. It's for a Shimano cassette hub. Take the cassette off, fit the sprocket and spacers and tensioner(fits where the derailleur would go) , shorten the chain and after checking the chain alignment tighten the lockring and that's about it(remove cables and shifters too).
