The Little Things
View Full Version : The Little Things
Just a word on another small discovery I made... each little one just keeps adding to my riding enjoyment and most of you experienced riders will know all these discoveries I am making...
Socks!!!
I finally bit the bullet and bought some cycling socks... Man, I love em...
I certainly never appreciated the engineering in a simple pair of socks...
My foot feels so much better in my Carnacs...
I reckon I'll avg another 0.002745 kph cause of these socks... :D
eh, I'm sorry to say, but I reckon 'nice' socks keep their grouse feel for about 2 weeks :p

Ha! :) I bought some 'springy', super-duper socks that were rubberized, or something, and they were fantastic........for about 5 rides!! :)
I ride with DT Swiss socks, which I got to match my wheels. I use a special mixture of stuff to wash my cycling gear, and it all ends up soft and comfortable. I can't stand stiff socks (my Giant ones are like that)
Well these cycling socks are a zillion times better made than my gl-lo 3 for $5 jobbies... So I'm kind of expecting they'll last some time...
When I went thru europe, I wore holes in socks like crazy, then bought 3 sets of povo socks off a street vendor in Paris... I still have them, they look like new after 2.5 years...
Socks are all different I suppose. Some cycling socks I spot on ebay I would't touch cause they visually don't look like they'll last. These one I have are made like hospital grade clothing...
Well, I got "smartsocks" and have been using them all year. They don't show any wear. Don't stiffen up in the wash. They also have good wicking action. I don't let any of my cycling clothes go in the dryer. I hang'em up to dry. they were only about $3 a pair.
Sidi or Campagnolo socks. Great, comfy, and make you look like a pro...;)
