Don't know about Xenon, but we've got Mirage calipers on three bikes and they're all fine - managed to haul me down to hairpin speeds on 80km/h descents in the alps this summer without problems, so that'll do me. Got Centaur on another bike and they have a different feel, maybe more positive, but I suspect that's more down to pad material than caliper strengthm since they're basically the same design (Mirage/Xenon have moulded pads, Centaur and above (not sure about Veloce) have replaceable cartridge pads. Not sure what Shimano equivalent would be - Sora for Xenon, Tiagra for Mirage? Worth pointing out that Shimano has quick release on the caliper, campag has QR on the brake lever. So if you use Shimano shifters and Campag calipers, you have no quick release facility.

Just another reason to get rid of those ugly-ass Shimano shifters then.... :-)

If you can swing it price-wise, most would recommend going with Veloce. If not, go with Mirage... maybe you can get 2007 already?

I am a Mirage 9 user. Very smooth and accurate. Easy adjustments all the way up and down. Not that I've had to make any, but ...

And I will do, when Campagnolo make ones that look better... :D

But seriously, just wanted an upgrade to the sora calipers I now have and wanted everything 105 level or better...

Unbelievably

Stick to your 105 plan...;)

sora brakes suck imo. at-least get somethin that's 105 level. If ya find more money ultegra brakes use a cartridge bearing rather then just a bushing.
