Hello All,

First time post! I've got a Felt SR71
(specs here http://www.feltbicycles.com/index.php?id=173,372,0,0,1,0 ) and the front derailleur is supposed to be 105 but it only says shimano 9 speed and looks a bit tinny. The rear is a dura ace so I'd like to change the front. What dictates what I can fit? I've seen a couple of dura ace "ten speed" front D's on ebay (links below) which look ok. What do I need to check/do?

Thanks in advance folks :)

The link is to an old Euro model, the FD info is a misprint. The FD should be a Shimano Flat Bar Derailleur, 443 or 660.

A Road Derailleur (105) will not work with the flat bat shifters.

I have a SR81 and a F95, a GF with a F100 these all work with FD-R443 Front Derailleurs.

Hi,

Thanks for that, so is there no way to upgrade the FD on flat bar bikes?

cheers

I think you might be a bit disappointed by an FD "upgrade", even if you could.
You could always go to the dark side of the force, Luke Flatbarrider....
