Tour Down Under 2007 TV Coverage

Straight from the 2007 TDU Website....
"Network Ten's broadcast will feature extended coverage in nightly news and Sports Tonight."
I am watching Sports Tonight right now & they put less than 1 minute about today's stage.
To me that sounds nothing like "extended coverage" & is very disappointing.
Hope it gets better over the next few days.

SBS news also had a segment. Otherwise wait for Cycling Central.

The news coverage in Adelaide hasn't been bad - the compulsory interviews of the 'wow I've just discovered bike racing' type, Stuey's and Robbie's 'oh gawd another damn predictable lightweight question', complete with bikes rolling past in the background, all that at the start of the news service, then something of the race itself in the sports segment. OK for a news service. Otherwise though ... yeah ... um ... :(

For those of you in Europe, Sky Sports 2 are showing the TDU this week.

I can't remember if it was the TDU or the Sun Tour, but last year ch10 had a 30min highlights bit, late at night, after the news.

One of the fox sports channels have a half hour on every night so far. Its on at 10:30 tonight Perth time.:D

The Ch 10 coverage is pathetic: they give more time to non-sports puff pieces. The "preview" show on the weekend had an interview with Robbie from last year, but they pretended he was talking about the bike he would be riding this week. Also, Ch 9 sports had no report at all the last two days, but led the news with a story that Eddie McGuire hosting a quiz show. A pox on the lot of them.

30mins of Day 4 highlights on Fox 3 at 2300 last night, highlights of Days 1-3 at 0630 this morning followed by a repeat of the Day 4 highlights.

Better than nothing, I guess.

Channel 10 (in Melb at least) has TDU live coverage listed from 2-4pm today :):)

Unfortunately we live in a transmission black spot - so our only TV reception is via satellite and Ch10 isn't available.
