Whoops - just realized that I kinda cross-posted with the Cafe forum with pretty much the same question (Rookie/MS150 thread). Sorry 'bout that... working too hard this week getting everything done for the big ride this weekend - actually forgot in the same day. If you answer here, your advice will NOT go unheeded, though! My #1 Recommendation is Hammer Perpeteum. I swear by it for long rides.

It has an oatmeal texture/taste to it, but it will keep you from cramping and bonking early.
