Im still a 5 and have 2 more races until i upgrade to a 4 and was wondering what are the major differences between the two?

Here in Washington the major differences are the length of some road races, and generally speaking, the level of experience (and fitness) of those in the class.

Minnesota is kind of the same. The difference normally has to due with length. I would say rider ability too, but I think that may be stretching it. In a 5 race you can get anyone from a guy who has never raced to guys who are really strong but only race in a USCF race a couple times a year so don't buy an anual license and have to race 5's and everything in between. In my personal experience, 5's seem to be a bit more twitchy with people not as used to riding in tight group. The 4 races here seem to be a solid group of riders where we do have 4/5 races together sometimes, but it seems the field spreads out pretty quick with the stonrger riders into separate groups.
