Suggest a couple of hybrids for me to look at...

...Hi. After 20 years bike-less I'm taking the plunge again. But the choice (in the UK) is amazing. I don't want to spend hours trying bikes out so perhaps you can give me a couple (or 3) makes/models to look at. My constraints...

1. I will be doing mainly recreational road and not-too-difficult track. So a hybrid it has to be!

2. My budget is "value", say £200-£300 UK Pounds.

3. I'm 6foot tall and heavy (whether that makes a difference).

4. I doubt I need suspension.

5. I don't mind buying last years model.

Let the (not too many) suggestions start rolling in...(I'm going to Evans cycles in London at the weekend)

I don't know the exchange rate so this might not matter. I love my Trek 7500FX. but like it best on the roads. Sister in law likes her 7200 which costs less. Seen a couple people on Giants who are having a good time and are comfortable over the long haul.

What I woudl do is hit ye olde bike shoppes and look at price tags and RIDE THEM. Let your buttocks decide.
